Building and Shipping – Second Sprint

Pushing on our second sprint, we’ve started building and shipping! The first iteration is a variant of an old project of ours: Anekdote. Well, we have revived the site, it’s back on anekdote.co.
The spirit is fantastic and has Vincent‘s energy and interest in minimalism. We’re happy with the current result.

Anekdote has always been about curating high-quality products manufactured by small enterprises caring about design and customer service.
The powerful motto for the project is:
“Anekdote is a directory celebrating great, independent businesses. These companies are not run by stockholders, layers of bureaucracy or an algorithm. They are full of soul and quite often the life’s work of the entrepreneurs behind them. By supporting an independent business, you stand by their beliefs, their obsession to detail and their approach to answer directly to customers. You’re also supporting a true reflection of the people behind it, people who care.”

We’ve shipped this project with over 80 sites and are closing on 20 more pretty soon. We’ll be reaching out to the brands soon. We’d want to hear from them if this has value to them. At the same time, we’ll develop a marketing campaign to drive some traffic from a new community.

We won’t use paid advertisement in this case as we don’t see Anekdote as a profit center, but mostly as an experiment and visibility creator.
Our marketing campaigns will be centered around Twitter and being active on forums or sites with like-minded people.

Anekdote will soon be joined by TrackGrowth.app, a tool that is taking a little longer to develop but that we’re also excited to ship! But more on building and shipping this second #sidehustle on an upcoming sprint.
